Abstract
Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) is the second most frequent malignancy associated with HIV/AIDS. The majority of NHL associated with HIV/AIDS is known to involve extra-nodal sites such as gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system. Primary NHL of liver is an uncommon neoplasm among these patients. It represents less than 1% of all extra-nodal lymphomas. Ultrasonography and computed tomography scans may be helpful in the diagnosis. Image-guided fine-needle biopsy with histopathology of the liver lesions is the gold standard for the diagnosis of hepatic lymphoma. We report a case of primary hepatic lymphoma as the initial manifestation of AIDS in a patient without any previous infection by hepatitis C or B virus, presenting as multiple and large hepatic masses.
