Abstract
Tuberculosis of the breast is a rare form of Tuberculosis. Of all the breast diseases treated surgically, tuberculosis is seen in the range between 0.025% and 0.1%. This ratio is higher in undeveloped countries. We report a case of breast tuberculosis in 40 year old female who presented with lump in right breast associated with pain. The lump was present in the upper and outer quadrant. She was treated with antibiotics followed by excision of mass. Histopathological examination showed it to be a granulomatous mastitis suggestive of tubercular etiology. Although tuberculosis of breast is extremely rare, it should be kept in mind particularly in developing and undeveloped countries.
