Abstract
Laser pointers are used frequently in presentations and class room teaching. However, some users are not fully aware of the hazards of these laser pointers and the way in which it must be used. Simple errors that occur during its use like unintentional pointing towards audience and other places must be avoided. A laser pointer with less than 1 mW is considered safe. Since they are readily available, several countries have passed regulations so as to prevent its malicious use use.
